We continue our study [R. Aylwin, C. Jerez-Hanckes, Schwab and J. Zech, Domain uncertainty quantification in computational electromagnetics, SIAM/ASA Uncertain. Quant. 8 (2020) 301–341] of the numerical approximation time-harmonic electromagnetic fields for Maxwell lossy cavity problem uncertain geometries. adopt same affine-parametric shape parametrization framework, mapping physical domains to a nominal polygonal domain with piecewise smooth maps. The regularity pullback solutions on is characterized Sobolev spaces. prove error convergence rates optimize algorithmic steering parameters edge-element discretizations combined with: (a) multilevel Monte Carlo sampling, (b) multilevel, sparse-grid quadrature computing expectation respect ensembles. In addition, we analyze interpolation compute surrogates domain-to-solution mappings. All calculations are performed polyhedral domain, which enables use standard simplicial finite element meshes. provide rigorous fully discrete analysis show, all cases, that dimension-independent algebraic achieved. For methods, higher order free from so-called curse dimensionality. Numerical experiments confirm theoretical results verify superiority methods.

Uncertainty Quantification in Computational Electromagnetics : The stochastic approach
— Models in electromagnetism are more and more accurate. In some applications, the gap between the experience and the model comes from the deviation on input data of the model which are not perfectly known. The stochastic approach can be used to quantify the effect of these input data uncertainties on the outputs of the model. In this article, the application of such approach in computational e...

متن کاملGrid Infrastructure for Domain Decomposition Methods in Computational ElectroMagnetics
The accurate and efficient solution of Maxwell’s equation is the problem addressed by the scientific discipline called Computational ElectroMagnetics (CEM). Many macroscopic phenomena in a great number of fields are governed by this set of differential equations: electronic, geophysics, medical and biomedical technologies, virtual EM prototyping, besides the traditional antenna and propagation ...
